Artwork in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
This painting by Kristina Česonytė shows an abstract design. The color blue dominates the canvas. Drips and splatters create a lively, fluid effect. It looks spontaneous. The technique used here makes the paint layers appear dynamic. Kristina's work often explores themes of memory and the passage of time. Here, the flowing lines could symbolize things that are fading or changing. The use of abstract style lets viewers find their own meanings in the chaos. The simplicity and boldness of a single color make the painting striking. Overall, it’s a visually captivating piece that encourages contemplation.
